The 2016 ACM International Joint Conference on Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp 2016) will be held in Heidelberg, Germany from Sep. 12-16, colocated with ISWC 2016.

UbiComp 2016 will again be multi-track and we aim to include a broad multidisciplinary program, encompassing any work that one would previously expect to see at either the UbiComp or Pervasive conferences.

12. Sep 2016 - 16. Sep 2016, Heidelberg (DE)

The International Symposium on Wearable Computers (ISWC) is the premier event for wearable computing and technology, and issues related to on-body and worn mobile technologies. ISWC brings together researchers, product vendors, fashion designers, textile manufacturers, users, and related professionals to share information and advances in wearable computing.

ISWC 2016 will be held at Heidelberg, Germany, and is collocated with the ACM International Joint Conference on Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp'16).

The 2016 edition of the SASO conference series will be held in Augsburg, Germany, in the week of September 12-16, 2016.

The aim of the Self-Adaptive and Self-Organizing systems conference series (SASO) is to provide a forum for the foundations of a principled approach to engineering systems, networks and services based on self-adaptation and self-organization. The complexity of current and emerging networks, software and services, especially in dealing with dynamics in the environment and problem domain, has led the software engineering, distributed systems and management communities to look for inspiration in diverse fields (e.g., complex systems, control theory, artificial intelligence, sociology, and biology) to find new ways of designing and managing such computing systems. In this endeavor, self-organization and self-adaptation have emerged as two promising interrelated approaches. Many significant research problems exist related to self-adaptive or self-organizing systems. A challenge in self-adaptation is often to identify how to change specific behavior to achieve the desired improvement. Another major challenge is to predict and control the global system behavior resulting from self-organization. Yet more challenges arise from the confluence of self-adaptation with self-organization. For instance, how do self-* mechanisms that work well independently operate in combination? How are meso-level structures formed which leverage micro-level behavior to achieve desirable macro-level outcomes, and avoid undesirable ones?

The tenth edition of the SASO conference embraces the inter-disciplinarity and the scientific, empirical and application dimensions of self-* systems; it thus aims to attract participants with different backgrounds, to foster cross-pollination between research fields, and to expose and discuss innovative theories, design principles, frameworks, methodologies, tools, and applications.

The biennial European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI) is Europe’s premier venue for presenting scientific results in AI. Supported by the European Coordinating Committee for AI (ECCAI), the ECAI conference provides an opportunity for researchers to present and hear about the very best research in contemporary AI. As well as a full programme of technical papers, ECAI 2016 will feature several other events, including

  • the Prestigious Applications of Intelligent Systems conference (PAIS),
  • the Starting AI Researcher Symposium (STAIRS),
  • the Collective Intentionality Conference
  • AIckathon, a hackathon for development of AI apps
  • an extensive programme of workshops, tutorials, and invited speakers
  • and many more!
  • Special topic: Artificial Intelligence for Human Values

ECAI 2016 will be held in the beautiful city of The Hague, the international city of peace and justice. With the most historic sites per square meter in the Netherlands, The Hague oozes culture and history and is home to the King and seat of the Dutch government. With excellent opportunities for sightseeing and gastronomy, The Hague promises to be a wonderful venue for a memorable conference.

Due to the rapid evolution of web technologies and rich mobile devices, ICT support for communities is possible on the next quality level. Moreover, different types of applications are using the Internet as a large distributed system. So mobile users and pervasive systems pose new technological and organizational challenges. Trying to achieve this, we challenge new research questions in a wide range of connected fields. In search of innovative solutions, multi-disciplinary collaboration among researchers and industry partners is essential. Hence, the goal of this conference is to bring together researchers, experts, and practitioners from various areas related to novel Internet Community Services.
