The "Robber-baron"
dinner traditionally given at Castle Lockenhaus is
planned as a social event. The menu covers
a guided tour in the castle, aperitif, knights snack, grilled
porkling, dessert and wine.
PADS'97 might consider the tradition of using ones hands instead
of knife and fork at the "Robber-baron" dinner, but this is just
an option.
The province of
Burgenland is known for producing among the best wines
all over Europe. Specifically the country around Castle Lockenhaus
is famous for the blue grape "Blaufränkisch",
which is unique in its quality worldwide. Winegrowers having
vineyards in the near surroundings will present their wines at
the welcome reception together with cheese and products of nature.
A short course in winetasting will be given, and winemaking
procedures will be explained.
