360Light Experiencing panoramic content in public spaces: Goals: High resolution, internet enabled, interactive display systems have become broadly deployed in public places, mostly for location specific announcement and commercial advertisement purposes - often referred to as SmartLight displays. 360Light attempts at combining cutting edge research in self-aware, adaptive and intelligent display systems, with high resolution 360° video capturing and streaming, and device free interaction principles and modalities.

Crowd safety in Mass Events: Goals: The objective of this project is the research and development of crowd safety solutions in the domain of (urban) mass events. It was found that many crowd disaster - such as the 2012 Duisburg Loveparade disaster - could have been avoided given better management structures and warning systems. The project aims to develop a complete solution to support event organizers and rescue forces in detecting and counteracting potential dangerous situations in the domain of (urban) mass events.
Recommender System: Goals: This industrial research project with RECTICEL Schlafkomfort GmbH -Schlaraffia addresses the problem of getting the right sleeping product according to the body shape. The aim of the project was to develop a body classifier. The approach that is used in this project is depth image sensor data as input for body classification algorithms. This contact free body measurement solution is steering the product recommendation for the customer.
FACT: This industrial research project with Siemens AG Germany aims at developing systems which are able to manage themselves and adapt to their environment.
Autonomic Peer Systems: This industrial research project with Siemens AG Germany provides a basis for situated spontaneous interaction of mobile devices in decentralized ad-hoc scenarios.
